Thank you for linking these thoughts by Piper. This is helpful for the elders in our local assembly as we have been considering some of these same issues.

Whenever I hear or read about Church membership responsibility, something that seems to be often neglected is the wounding that has been inflicted on the sheep by leaders who are not leaders at all. I would characterize these men as insecure, self serving, immature and foolish. I had to learn the hard way as I submitted to foolish council and paid dearly for it. Any thoughts or recommended reading?
