As a professor and a pastor, Eric provides a model for all ministers regardless of race. I myself am only 27 years old and work with primarily 20--something's. I notice the shift in thier (this age group) thinking. There seems to be a good balance between being relational and also making sure that we are sound theologically. Many times in the past I have heard the argument against studying theology, "lets just love people". And it would drive me mad! The only way that we can genuinely love people is to do what is best for them....and what is best for them is that we show them Christ. And that requires that we know Him and His gospel and be able to share it in any context. With all the post-modern, relativistic, and new-age ideaologies that surround us we must be sound theologically if we are going to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for the interview.

Jonathon Woodyard
http://igniteuk.blogspot.com
www.myspace.com/igniteyourcampusAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
