Me too!
Ya, I linked to this too because I too dig this brother. Man, what great stuff our Lord is doing through Mark D (as well as through the other Mark D, Mark Dever that is). I wish more people were praying for Mark D and Mars Hill as oppossed to offering criticism.
Sorry, but a certain amount of cognitive dissonance just set in. The previous post was expressing concern about churches setting up multiple satellite campus locations. This post is praising a man who has set up a church with multiple satellite campus locations. Maybe I'm missing something. Was the previous post actually praising the idea of having satellite locations and I just missed the drift of the conversation?
lol, add me to the list of those who "dig this brother"
shawn: i believe brother thabiti was expressing concern with satellite campuses that were crossing state/country lines, not so much with satellite campuses within one urban area, as mars hill (and bethlehem baptist as well) is doing.
What is the fundamental difference between satellites within an urban area and satellites that cross man-made state and county lines? Sorry, but my concerns about satellite campuses holds for urban, county, state and national lines.
shawn:
i have concerns as well, though i have more concern with the far reaching satellite campuses. multiple campuses within one urban area allow for continued involvement of one elder group for multiple churches and the preaching can still address local issues.
again, i am not an advocate for satellite campuses, but i think there is a fundamental difference between local and distant satellites.
