The gospel in hip hop culture is the same gospel of apostolic culture. Shai Linne illustrates:
No altar call. No manipulation. No mood lighting. Just Jesus crucified, resurrected, reigning. Just the call to repent and believe. Could it be that simple?

OK, so seriously, this stuff is amazing... I heart Shai Linne in a big way.
Thabiti,
Anyway that you could use your influence to open a door for Shai to speak or be a part of the Gospel Coalition conference in Chicago in April. I think that the broader scope of evangelicalism needs to be made aware that there are a group of reformed theologians who are ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ in areas of our country that many dare not go. They are gifted teachers. They are studied theologians. They are culturally relevant to the people they seek to reach.
But...
They are often ignored by the church at large. They are often treated as a nice story, but not seen as being a part of the "real" movement.
I know Shai and he is not only a gifted theologian and teacher, but also a person of integrity. And there are many others like him. If we can involve them in the "conversation" of how to reach the world for the gospel, I believe that they will help lead us.
Just some thoughts. Thank you for pointing this brother out to many who may have never known that the Gospel comes packaged in a jar of clay like Shai Linne.
Grace and peace.
Amen... thank you for sharing this...
Ok, that's it-- I'm finding a way to fly Shai Linne to Albuquerque to speak at Desert Springs Church! I love this brother!
